We are delighted to announce that due to over whelming demand we are introducing a brand new range of young plants specifically for the Grow Your Own market.
There is a great buzz with this activity in recent times, especially with the credit crunch now happening.
Growing your own fruit & veg can be such great fun and a brilliant source of wholesome nutrition. You also have the added benefit that you know exactly what has happened to your food before it ends up on your dinner table.
GROWING FROM SEED
For many vegetables growing from seed is the best option. Particularly carrots, rhubarb and beetroot. Just make sure that you have dug over your ground well and have broken up the largest lumps of soil to get as fine as you can. You can sow most of these seeds directly into their final growing place as they don’t really transplant very well.
GROWING FROM YOUNG PLANTS
This is by far and away the easiest form of growing your own! Have the plants raised for you. You then have the fun part – planting, nurturing and best of all harvesting. Top tip here would be to make sure that (a) you plant enough for your requirements and (b) you don’t plant too many that you have a glut for high yielding crops!
It may sound obvious – but from one cabbage plant you will get one cabbage but the flip side is that from one courgette plant you will get about 40 courgettes!
We are also getting our heads around a suitable soft fruit offering to you and have the fantastic blueberry and the ever so succulent and sweet Strawberry Super Sweet.

I’ve tried planting some veggies in our backyard, and this post is really helpful and informative for me. I can’t wait to harvest my veggies!
