How does pottering around help with the credit crunch I hear you ask. Here are a few of my thoughts on the subject…..

The first thing that most of us probably thought about was how we are going to save money or tighten our belts once the credit crunch really begins to bite. Even if you are lucky enough to have a whole pile of hard earned cash stashed away (maybe not so secure as it once was) you are most definately looking at reduced returns for the short to medium term.

Well the first thing many of us will do is to curtail our excessive social calendars which in turn means that you inevitably have a lot more time hanging around your own home. The more time that you spend at home you more you actually find yourself wanting to make it look better.

With the credit crunch biting hard you won’t be able to install the new kitchen, the kidney shaped heated swimming pool, the retro games den, the giant plasma screen and home cinema system or the new extension. Not because you don’t want to or perhaps can’t afford to but probably because the high street financiers just won’t extend any lines of credit. So no home improvement loans, re-mortgaging or equity release unless you come up with most of the money!

So what can you do?.....Spend TIME and not much money by GARDENING.

Gardening done wisely is a relatively inexpensive pastime and can add a great deal of value to your lives and your property. Growing Your Own produce is not only great fun but incredibly healthy. Home grown fruit and veg freshly harvested is very difficult to beat. Check out our Kitchen Garden section on the website for some great ideas. We supply seeds for your to bring on at the own leisure or supply a range of young plant fruit and veg. Recent research has shown that a kilo of sprouts purchased in a supermarket costs double that of a kilo of sprouts grown from seed. Multiply this one product across the board and you could be looking at some serious cash savings.

The next area for some massive savings come in the form of plug plants. Where you would pay over £3 for 6 plants at your local garden centre you can buy a tray of 66 plants for only £9.95. Like for like that means we are cheaper by a multiple of 3 (or you save something like 70% with Blooming Direct.

Another concept worth exploring is what I call social gardening. What you do is club together with your friends and neighbours and buy larger quantities of plants than you would normally do. Split the cost and divide the spoils. Whilst you are at it you can treat yourself to a pair of the seriously trendy and funky Tayberry Welly Boots. We are probably the cheapest place on the web for these particular boots & we offer free delivery.

There you have it. Is is official…..gardening with Blooming Direct helps to beat the credit crunch.
